I remember a house-meeting where we drafted the papers to have the party formally uhhhh incorporated. 1983?
Sad fact is I hardly remember who was there. (The next year my X and I took the kids away to live in Cape Breton after the Cold Lake Peace Camp came apart.)

The Wikipedia entry on the Alberta Green Party pegs its incorporation at 1986. Both years precede my involvement though. I was just graduating from Harry Ainlay in '83 and was in fourth year at UofA in '86.

Was the Cold Lake Peace Camp against US cruise missle testing?

Yaa, I lost track when we moved to NS. A lot of my friends in the Baddeck area were in Elizabeth May's social circle. (Being "from away" is hugely important in that area.)

"Was the Cold Lake Peace Camp against US cruise missle testing?"
Ayup ... my then wife came along when I moved up there as spokesperson.
Lovely memories: CBC National did a profile ... imagine 3 little girls hanging white doves from a Christmas tree huh huh ... that was my 15 minutes of fame. The National, Canada AM, whassitcalled Meet the Press ... in the week after the Squamish 5 bombed the Litton Plant I did something like three dozen interviews.

I knew what I was getting into ... I'm not a credentialed member of the conventional parties, so elbows were up most of the time. *shrug* I've been in the trenches since the late 60s.
Old activists never die, they just fade away on welfare in a run-down one bedroom overlooking Whyte Avenue.

We definitely need more people like him. I am more oriented on profits and business in my career but the latest trends tell me the eco responsible business is the way to go. Giving respect you get respect and that's what we are focusing on with our customers.
